      How to vote

      Three ways to cast your ballot

      Every active registered voter in Utah gets a ballot in the mail. You choose how to send it back.

      By mail

      Fill out your ballot, sign the envelope, and mail it with no stamp needed.

      • Your ballot has to arrive by 8 p.m. on November 3. A postmark no longer counts.
      • Mail it by October 27 to leave the post office a full week.

      Drop box

      Skip the mail. Drop your signed envelope in any official ballot drop box in your county.

      • Drop boxes open when ballots arrive and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day.
      • Find locations on your county clerk's website or at vote.utah.gov.

      Deadline: 8 p.m., Nov 3

      In person

      Vote at a vote center on Election Day, or early in counties that offer it.

      • Bring a valid photo ID, or two documents that show your name and address.
      • Missed the registration deadline? You can still register and vote in person on Election Day with ID and proof of address.

      Polls close: 8 p.m., Nov 3

      New this year: Write the last four digits of your Utah driver license, state ID, or Social Security number on your ballot envelope. If you can't, your signature is still checked against your record.
      Can I vote?You're a U.S. citizen, 18 by November 3, and have lived in Utah at least 30 days.
      16 or 17?You can preregister now and you'll be registered automatically when you turn 18.
      Moved recently?Update your address at vote.utah.gov by October 23 so your ballot follows you.
      Away at college?Choose where you're registered. If it's at home, ask your county clerk to mail your ballot to your school address.

      All four of Utah's seats are on the ballot. Every Utah voter sees one of these races.

      15 of 29 seats are on the ballot. Senators serve four-year terms.
