Ash Fattig grew up in rural Northern California, where she learned to recognize the difference between a generation expected to do better, and a community that hadn't yet done right by them.

That background, combined with years in youth-centric local journalism working directly with Gen Z of all ages, shapes who she believes civic engagement is actually built for and what needs to change for it to be truly accessible. She's spent almost a decade in Utah embedded in the communities she aims to bring into civic life, drawing on an education in psychology and communications to connect the people she serves, and to tell their stories.

She exists as a mixed bag of Gen Z habits such as watching multiple screens simultaneously and an unwavering commitment to the bit.
